The city of Lewisville is served by one of the largest school districts in the state of Texas. Lewisville Independent School District covers more than 125 square miles and teaches more than 53,000 students a year, putting it in the Top 100 largest districts in America. In addition to Lewisville, the district serves the communities of Flower Mound, The Colony, Highland Village, Copper Canyon, and Double Oak. Smaller portions of Plano, Carrollton, Frisco, Hebron, Coppell, Grapevine, and Argyle attend Lewisville Independent School District as well. The district has been “Recognized” by the Texas Education Agency, with a large amount of individual schools rated “Exemplary”. Just recently, LISD students tested 113 points higher than the national average on their SAT exams.
