new_high_res_logo_web_400x400-150x150Education is something that has made Forney such a sought after city in the Lake Ray Hubbard area. Forney Independent School District has served the city of Forney since the turn of the 20th century and is one of the fastest growing school districts in the state. With just under 9,000 students in fourteen campuses, Forney ISD is gaining more and more of a reputation as the district of choice to send our kids.

Forney ISD has repeatedly gained the attention of the Texas Education Agency for years. The TEA has ranked FISD as an Exemplary school district since 2010 and expect to keep doing so for years to come. But the district as a whole isn’t the only thing ranking high, seven of the nine elementary schools in the district received an Exemplary rating, as well as one of the district’s middle schools, Warren Middle School.

In 2006, the district began implementing a new program known as E-Books, providing each student in the district, 5th Grade and older, with a district issued laptop to use as an educational resource in both the classroom and at home. In addition to the use of technology in the classroom, Forney ISD offers Pre-Advanced Placement and Advanced Placement courses to their high school students, as well as dual credit classes like college algebra, statistics, and freshman and sophomore English. This allows the students to accumulate up to 18 hours of college credit before they even graduate.
